Your
hip is a very stable & strong joint, generally known as a ball and socket
joint consisting of top of the thigh (femur) and the pelvis (ball sits inside a
hollow socket in your pelvis). The hip
joint can withstand repeated motion and a certain amount of wear & tear.
This ball-and-socket joint is the body’s largest joint that fits together in a
way that allows for fluid movement. Multiple ligaments support the
bones, which provide a lot of stability to the joint. Numerous muscles &
tendons form a capsule around the joint to aid in movements which help in
moving the joint, supporting your leg and upper body movement.
Several
things could be the cause of hip pain. Sometimes recreation or sport can put
repetitive strain on the hip and cause pain.

- Inability to move your leg or hip
- Any signs of infection (fever, chills, redness)
