A nerve entrapment is caused when a peripheral nerve losses mobility, flexibility, or becomes compressed through repetitive activities or trapped by acute injuries, causing swelling. A nerve entrapment can cause neurogenic/neuropathic pain that may be chronic or acute in nature.
