Shoulder Pain

The shoulder is a very flexible joint that is made up of several tendons, ligaments, and muscles that all work together.

The shoulder is a ball & socket joint that has three main bones: the humerus (arm bone), the scapula (shoulder blade) and the clavicle (collar bone). The shoulder joint is the most mobile joint in the body. There are many ligaments which support the shoulder, and many muscles are attached to aid in movement. Shoulders get their range of motion from the rotator cuff which keeps the shoulder joint in place and provide mobility & stability.

Your shoulder tends to get pain as you grow older, especially after age 60 as the soft tissues surrounding the shoulder tend to degenerate with age.
